We begin our overview of Peru with a full day tour of Lima. What a beautiful city! It appears to us to be much more European than South American! Lovely squares, cathedrals, and government buildings. What few people realize is that Peru is really the birth of civilization in the western hemisphere. We visited the oldest house in the Americas, dating back to 1535! So much comes from here, as we will learn throughout the next few days.
